Numbers 13:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Deuteronomy 8:7 For the Lord thy God bringeth
thee into a good land, a land of brooks of
water, of fountains and depths that spring out
of valleys and hills;

fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil
olive, and honey;
-
Compare to 1 Samuel 8:6 But the thing
displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a
king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the
Lord.
7 And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto
the voice of the people in all that they say
unto thee: for they have not rejected
thee, but they have rejected Me, that
I should not reign over them.
8 According to all the works which they have
done since the day that I brought them up out of
Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they
have forsaken Me, and served
other gods, so do they also unto thee.
-
God already espied it in Ezekiel 20:6 In the day
that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring
them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that
I had espied for them, flowing with
milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:
-

children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every
one a ruler among them.

they be strong or weak, few or many;
-
They wanted to see what kind of people they were
going against.
19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what
cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood
therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land.
Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.
21 So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob,
as men come to Hamath.
22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai,
and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before
Zoan in Egypt.)
23 And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch
with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they
brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
-
It was the land of milk and honey, it took two

Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites,
and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
